Cleaveland/Price, Inc. (C/P) needed a configurable QMS solution that would allow them to improve the quality of their switch products, automation products, line sensors, and RTUs for the high voltage electrical industry. Their old system was comprised of siloed, manual-based processes and homegrown applications that didn’t integrate easily with each other. Time-consuming data retrieval and lack of reporting functionality kept them from reaching their full potential.

Synesis accepted the challenge and implemented a cost-effective and flexible SharePoint QMS solution developed by our long-term partner, BPA Solutions. By streamlining their document control, calibration, and employee training processes within a centralized QMS system, C/P was able to obtain ISO 9001:2015 certification for the first time.

03. The Challenge

C/P’s Quality Management System (QMS) was comprised of siloed, manual-based processes and homegrown applications that didn’t integrate easily with each other. Time-consuming data retrieval and lack of reporting functionality forced C/P to look for a centralized QMS solution.

04. The Solution

Synesis focused on building a sophisticated, custom Training Management module based on C/P’s specifications.  Synesis also implemented the Document Control module with room to expand to additional functionality such as CAPA, Non-Conformance, Internal Audits, and Change Management.

C/P needed a highly sophisticated training management module that most out-of-box solutions were unable to deliver. Synesis’ expertise and ability to customize in weeks rather than months or years, made us an easy choice for C/P.  Cost effective to implement and maintain, Synesis also offered the only solution that leveraged Microsoft’s SharePoint, a business application already utilized by C/P. This drastically cut the learning curve of implementing a new software solution. 

06. The Payoff

Synesis implemented a centralized QMS system that streamlined siloed, document record keeping and training management processes. Information can now be distributed/searched easily throughout the organization and managers can ensure that training is accurate and complete. This software was instrumental in C/P’s journey to ISO 9001:2015 compliance.
